Do we REALLY have to ask?

look...all i'm saying is that there is a huge difference between what i want and what i need, and even moreso a difference between me and you. so this garbage about whether journalists should give the people what they want or need?  pretty simple answer, i think (simple IF you want viewers!): give them what they freaking want! and then if there is something pressing that they absolutely NEED, then give it to them.  yes. this takes thinking! unlike this guy... he doesnt care about anybody's wants or needs except his own.  so obviously that's not good.
and that question: should we focus on news that's fun and fascinating or the news that's most important?  that's like asking if your 5-year-old if they want Skittles or broccoli.  DUH! broccoli flavored skittles!
gross.
but seriously.  if you are a good journalist, i mean, a good one...then you will take those stories and MAKE them fun/fascinating.  am i wrong? no. everyone knows people that are brilliant story-tellers. and even if they tell a boring story,  it's good because they are great at telling it.
so look.  dont be a dumbhead (see below). you have to know your audience. you have to know who you are talking to...and you have to be great.
